In November we decided to adopt again... Well, actually we have been talking about adopting a second time for a few years. We took the step of announcing and getting started with the process in November.
Since we had been considering adopting again for so long, we had a long list of possible adoption agencies we were interested in. After a lot of prayer, research, and thought, we chose one. We are scheduled to attend an informational session in January with our chosen agency. Afterwards, we will be able to begin the application process. So for now, we wait. If we learned anything from adopting the first time, waiting comes with the process. Waiting patiently is difficult. I already sense a different feeling about this adoption though. I'll have to share that another day.
For a couple of years Dazie has been talking about her brother and sister. When we ask who she is talking about, she responds with something like "You know! My sister (and/or brother) that we are going to get." When we told her that we are finally going to adopt, she was very happy but didn't seem as surprised as I expected. I suppose since it has been common language in our home and she has always had her heart set on siblings, it didn't seem to phase her much. Don't get me wrong, she is excited. When she sees baby things, she asks if we can buy them for our babies. I look forward to seeing Dazie as a big sister. She has such a kind and caring personality, that I know will come out fully when there is a little one (or two as Dazie says) in our home.
So, do you think Dazie is right? Will we adopt a boy AND girl? I suppose only time will tell.
